With decades of experience as a spelt farmer in Denmark, Jann built his life through hard work, discipline, and a deep understanding of the land.
In 2022, he decided he needed a new start. The Algarve offered a different kind of promise—sun, time, and the opportunity to reinvest in a new form of agriculture.
What began as a personal move toward warmer days became a new passion: cultivating vines and creating wines that reflect the region’s light, energy, and sense of ease—crafted with the same patience and integrity that shaped his first life in farming.
We are in our founding years, guided by a deep commitment to sustainable, low-intervention farming so that the natural terroir of Porches in the Algarve can express itself with authenticity and character. At Quinta do Sol, we warmly welcome visitors to discover our first wines, experience the beauty and charm of the Algarve, and become part of the journey we are so thoughtfully bringing to life.
